After much thought and discussion with my family, Honeybee Doughnuts will be closed as of Saturday, May 7th, 2022, exactly six years from the day we opened.

When we opened in 2016, Honeybee was the first brick-and-mortar artisanal doughnut shop in Miami-Dade County. As a woman-owned business, with my incredible team of employees – no partners or investors, we brought joy to our guests, whether on special occasions or through daily moments.

I am endlessly grateful for all of the memorable experiences and opportunities Honeybee has been able to offer our community. We had the honor of participating in the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, both at The Grand Tasting Village and as part of Trisha Yearwood’s Southern Brunch. We were also named one of the “Top 10 Most Over the Top Doughnuts in the Country” by Tasting Table and selected by Thrillist, as one of the “Top Doughnut Shops in Miami.”

We are also thankful for the collaborations we have had with Panther Coffee, Spris, Salumeria 104, Veuve Clicquot, Veza Sur, Concrete Beach, Southern Wine & Spirits, Chillin Nitrogen Ice Cream, Nordstroms, Williams Sonoma, The Scout Magazine – Miami Edition, The Pegasus Horse Race, University of Miami, FIU, Marriott, Ritz Carlton, Dessert Wars Miami, South Miami Hospital and many, many more. Thank you to Miami New Times, Voyage Magazine, WSVN’s Deco Drive, and Shout Out Miami, for shining a light on our doughnuts.

Though I have decided to follow another path, I am proud to have enjoyed this journey with the community I grew up in. The past six years have allowed me to fulfill a lifelong dream. I can only hope I have made my grandmother proud, as she was my inspiration. I am grateful to my family for believing in me, and for their unconditional support and patience during many long days and nights.

Thank you to my dedicated staff. This could not have come to fruition without you. I am beyond grateful and humbled by the love and support we have received from our loyal customers, friends, and fans.

It has been humbling to see the impact that Honeybee has made on so many people. I wanted Honeybee to be a special place that brought happiness to everyone that came into our shop.

I will miss my Honeybee family, clients, and community, but I am grateful for your support. Thank you for being a part of our unforgettable journey, and always remember to “Make Life Sweet.”

With love and appreciation,

 Karen & the Honeybee Family
